Young Members Award
NZSAP July 1996: Young Members Award
The purpose of this award is to encourage a high standard of research planning, execution and of paper preparation and presentation by young members of the Society's Annual Conference. All eligible young members are encouraged to apply for this award if the submit an abstract to the 1997 conference.
Eligibility for this award is restricted to the following:
- Full or student members of the Society under 35 years old on the 30th September prior to the conference and obtained a Ph.D. (if held) less than 2 years previously.
- The young members must be the senior author of the paper concerned and have made the major contribution to the planning, execution, analysis and preparation of the information.
- The presentation must be the first or second technical presentation by the member at a Society's Annual Conference.
- A young member is eligible to enter for the award twice, provided that the award was not presented to him/her on the first occasion.
Applicants should indicate their wish to be considered for the Young Member's Award on the Abstract Submission Form. The abstract must be counter-signed by the Supervisor/Head of Department confirming the eligibility conditions outlined above. The applicant should also include a passport sized photograph with their application for inclusion in the abstract booklet.
