The emergency of large scale poultry businesses in some overseas
countries is outlined, and the development of large scale private
breeding organizations is discussed. Genetic-economic considerations and
market potential largely determine the type of breeding plan followed.
The New Zealand Random Sample Test is described, and its usefulness in
evaluating poultry stocks assessed.
