The analysis of data relating fertility and body weight in the
two-tooth ewe is discussed. An outline is given of possible components
of a relationship between these two traits in terms of the growth
periods or the proportion of fat contributing to two-tooth body weight.
Methods of analysis of these components are considered in relation to
the interpretation of data on them.
It was considered that insufficient information was available for the
inclusion of body weight in selection plans for sheep except for the
culling of obviously poorly grown animals.
