The carcass composition of purebred and cross bred Angus steers was compared. The Charolaise x Angus produced the heaviest hot carcass and more lean boneless meat than the other breeds. The Friesian x Angus ranked as second highest producer of boneless meat and was just superior to the South Devon x Angus and the Hereford x Angus.
