Nutritional "tapering" is defined using aerobic training of
athletes as an example. Experiments are listed where livestock
performance either has depended or appears to be related to nutritional
pre-conditioning and subsequent better feeding. The subject is
discussed with reference to metabolic changes that occur when
nutritional "tapering" is practised.
