Lambs of ewes with a high maternal behaviour score (MBS) located the
udder in less time after birth than lambs of low MBS ewes. Rapid location of
the udder increased immunoglobulin concentration in lamb plasma 24 hours
after birth and may contribute to the improved lamb survival and growth (ewe
productivity) associated with high MBS ewes.
