Research since 1995 has focused on soil, fertiliser and animal
management factors affecting soil and water quality in intensive dairy
systems on imperfectly to poorly drained soils in Southland and Otago.
Derived from this on-farm research, best practice for effluent,
fertiliser and soil management to ensure that required environmental
standards are attained, is outlined.
