The New Zealand Society of Animal Production has been the major NZ forum for the presentation of research results on farmed animals including: sheep, cattle, dairy, deer and goats for over 50 year's. Over 520 farmers, farm advisors, veterinarians, scientists and university students are members of the Society.

Grants and Awards

A variety of grants and awards are administered by NZSAP. Normally calls for applications for these awards occur regularly in the Society Newsletter, currently deadlines for applications are 31st January and 1st July (Animal Science and Genomics awards). In 2003 the Society disbursed $18,700 and in 2004 $20,000 in various awards. In January 2005 the Society also disbursed $5,000 from the inagural Animal Genomics fund.
